Naming Ceremonies - not just for tiny babies
A Naming Ceremony is a beautiful celebration that welcomes a new child or person into their family and wider community.
Not only are naming ceremonies popular for newborns and toddlers, but I create bespoke Naming ceremonies for anyone who wishes to celebrate someone’s new name or identity - a person can be any age to have a Naming Ceremony. A ceremony could take place for a child who has been adopted or for a blended family to recognise a stepchild(ren). A person may have undergone a gender transition and wish to celebrate their most authentic self.
I will create a ceremony that’s all about celebrating the person filled with unbridled joy, love and hope.

A naming ceremony can be held at any venue of your choosing at any time of the day.
Some families choose to hold a ceremony in their garden, on the beach or in their favourite hotel - the choice of where to hold the naming ceremony is yours!
How we will work together
After an initial telephone consultation and a face to face or zoom meeting I will then send you a questionnaire to complete - this process will help me to find out all about you, the person being named and how you want the ceremony to be held and to feel.
From the moment I begin to work with you, you will receive committed support from me - I will consult with you on the script and ensure you have agreed to the script before the big day. I will work closely and respectfully to create a joyful and unique naming ceremony for your beloved human being, which will become a special memory for you to hold onto forever.
I will support you to think of any extra special touches or symbolic rituals for the ceremony to make it as unique and personalised as you would like - I have a wonderful bank of readings and music and I love to research these to suit individual ceremonies. Many naming ceremonies include symbolic elements such as sand blending, planting a tree and blowing and releasing bubbles.
If you wish, you can nominate friends and family to act as the child's 'Guideparents,' or whichever name you're comfortable with (for example, ‘Goodparents’). The parents and Guideparents are invited to make personal promises or vows to the child during the ceremony, if this is something you would like to include.
You will also receive a specially presented copy of the script on the day, to enjoy as a keepsake.
Pricing:
Naming Ceremony: £300
Naming Ceremony and Coaching Package: (3 sessions plus me as your Celebrant at bespoke Naming Ceremony) £390 (follow up sessions charged at £30 per session).
I happily travel all over the North West of England (Merseyside, Lancashire, Cheshire, Greater Manchester, The Wirral); I love to travel so will be more than happy to officiate a ceremony anywhere in England, Wales, Northern Ireland or Scotland - further than 40 miles will be charged at an extra 45p per mile.
