As an Independent Celebrant, I can ensure that you have the type of farewell that you wish for - there are no rules or restrictions (within reason!).

I have been trained by the Academy of Modern Celebrancy and Qualified as a Funeral Celebrant in 2023.

I closely follow the Funeral Celebrant Accord which sets the standards  by which all Funeral Celebrants should be measured.

I love my job - it is a privilege to support others at a very difficult and distressing time and create a ceremony that incorporates the joy of remembering and celebrating their loved one. I understand that planning an End of Life Celebration may be really tough on you so I will sensitively listen, help and guide you when planning the ceremony.

What happens next?

Normally your Funeral Director will recommend me or you may have found my page or been referred to me by a friend.

When planning an End of Life Celebration, I will spend time with immediate family and friends of the deceased, listening to what they want to share about their loved one. We will chat about their personality, special events, interests, family, friends and career. We will gather the memories that make you smile and laugh. Together we will create a celebratory service that is memorable, reflective of the deceased and comforting in your time of grief.

I will write a draft script for your approval, including the eulogy – or you may draft the eulogy or a tribute if you prefer.

Family or friends may contribute and speak at the ceremony or if you would rather, I  can deliver the entire ceremony.

I will help you to choose poems / readings or music and describe why they have been selected.

If you wish, you can choose to include religious content or prayers.

As your End of Life Celebrant, I will look after you on the day of the ceremony and deliver a service that reflects and celebrates the life and unique qualities of your loved one. Through getting to know you, I will do my best to learn everything about your loved one to tell the story about their life, capturing their character and personality and helping you to say goodbye to them, with grace.  I will give you a presentation script to keep or share with those who are unable to attend on the day.

You can hold your service anywhere you wish - you may prefer to have a burial or cremation, or indeed a direct cremation with a service in a special place. I can support you to make whatever you want to do to commemorate your loved one, happen.
